One of the perks of being invited to a book club meeting is the food. Who doesn’t enjoy a good book, good friends and great munchies??
I’ve been graciously hosted by clubs all over the country and whether it’s Minga Suma in LA, Read Sister Read in Omaha NE, Black Onyx in Miami or the Catching Sense Book Club at the Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit, books, friends and food are a winning combination. My favorite? Barbecue wings. I prefer to do them outside on the grill, but here in the Upper Midwest that’s next to impossible once the snow flies, so what’s a girl to do? She does them inside under the broiler. It’s a quick, no muss, no fuss process that allows you to do the prep in advance so that you don’t miss the book discussion, the baby shower, or, for those of us who enjoy inviting friends over for the game, kick-off!
