Like we said yesterday, anything you like you’ll probably like in a cocktail. Today’s recipe includes muddling ginger. You can buy a muddler and keep with your bar tools or, in a pinch, use the handle of a wooden spoon. Put the spice/herb/root/fruit/etc at the bottom of a pint glass or shaker and use the wooden spoon to smush (the technical term) it. Muddling releases oils, flavors & aromas that you wouldn’t normally get just by dropping the item into the cocktail.
